FAQ

Santa Claus receives many questions and enjoys providing answers. Below are some of the most common questions I’ve been asked over the years.

Questions for Santa

Is Santa Claus real?

As far as I can tell, I am very real. Probably just as real as you are. I get asked that a lot, so most of the time I check by pulling on my beard, and it’s always there. So, I must be real.

But Santa is so much bigger than “being real.” He’s love, magic, wonder, delight, joy, and hope! He’s the best part of every one of us, and the child inside of us all! So, not only is Santa Claus real, he’s legendary!

Seriously, can you imagine all the parents in the world staying up all night pretending to be something they’re not? That’s just silly!

What is Santa's favorite food?

This is an easy one, but one I get asked a lot. Santa’s favorite food is Cookies!

What is Santa's favorite kind of cookie?

Santa has two favorite kinds of cookies: store-bought and homemade! Hohoho! Seriously, though, I love good old chocolate chip cookies the best.

How many reindeer does Santa have?

Well, you know Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen… and of course you remember the most famous reindeer of all, Rudolph. But did you know Santa has 20 other reindeer?! That’s right!

Their names are, Robbie, Olive, Bruce, Marvin, Leon, Cletus, George, Bill, Slick, Do-right, Clyde, Ace, Blackie, Queenie, Prince, Spot, Rover, Shadrack, Leroy.

Try singing that!

How many elves does Santa have?

Santa has thousands of elves working for him. Not all of them are at the North Pole, though. Some of them are secret, undercover elves who help watch and make sure everyone is being good.

How do Santa's reindeer fly?

Santa can’t tell you how his reindeer fly because it’s a secret. And can you imagine if everyone knew how, and then all their dogs and cats and fish and hamsters would be flying all over the place!

Can kids visit Santa at the North Pole?

Sadly, no. The secrets of the North Pole are too important to let visitors in. I have thought of doing something like my good friend Willy Wonka did, and letting in 5 lucky children with a golden ticket. But I’m still working out the logistics.

Ask Santa a Qustion

If you have a question for Santa Claus, you can write me a letter, or you can ask me in person! Simply schedule a visit and I’ll answer any questions you can think of, as long as they don’t violate my Christmas oaths of magical secrecy, of course.
